Inclusion and Gender Coordinator
Improving Public Education Outcomes (IPEO) Program
USAID’s Improving Public Education Outcomes (IPEO) Program in Lebanon seeks to improve learning outcomes for all students in public primary schools. The activity targets an estimated 200,000 girls and boys, including those who are registered in second shifts of public schools. The Inclusion and Gender Coordinator will work closely with the Monitoring, Evaluation, Research and Learning (MERL) team to ensure gender and social inclusion best practices are integrated into programmatic activities. The Inclusion and Gender Coordinator will ensure the most vulnerable and marginalized populations are represented across all project components. The ideal candidate will be a dynamic individual with demonstrated experience working with government and non-governmental stakeholders on similar technical activities and has previous experience working on US government funded programs, and able to work effectively and respectfully with individuals from diverse backgrounds.

Responsibilities
• Coordinate with the M&E team to develop the data collection and analysis tools for the baseline assessment to guarantee gender and social inclusion considerations;
• Support the gender and social inclusion analysis, to inform programmatic needs in the local context;
• In collaboration with the Monitoring, Evaluation, Research and Learning (MERL) Director, provide partner organizations with ongoing gender integration and social inclusion technical assistance;
• Ensure the most vulnerable and marginalized populations are represented across all project components;
• Support and train project staff on gender and social inclusion sensitivity and approaches;
• Travel regularly throughout Lebanon to monitor and follow-up on project activities;
• Other responsibilities as assigned.
Requirements
• Master’s degree in gender studies, social sciences or a relevant field preferred;
• A minimum of three to five years of demonstrated relevant experience;
• Experience in implementing gender integration and/or social inclusion programmatic activities;
• Demonstrated experience working on donor funded projects with similar scopes of work preferred;
• Demonstrated knowledge of USAID rules, regulations, and reporting requirements desired;
• Full professional proficiency in spoken and written English and Arabic is required and French preferred. Must be able to use the language fluently and accurately and be able to read all styles and forms on all levels pertinent to professional needs;
• Commitment to inclusive programming that encourages full participation of individuals regardless of gender, disability status, ethnicity, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity or other marginalized status.
