World Learning seeks a General Coordinator for a School Management & Instructional Leadership Program – SWAP Educacion. Duration: 1 year 4 months. Background:This program aims at providing training to 15,334 principals and vice-principals from different regions in Peru as part of the Peruvian government’s policy to specialize teacher development. The program is funded through a loan issued by the World Bank to the Peruvian government, which will include participants from public schools from pre-K through High School, Special Needs Education, Alternative Education, and Vocational-Technical Education. Duration of the program is 83 weeks set to start on November 2, 2015 and ending March 2017.
General Coordinator
Responsibilities will include the following:
· Serve as the legal representative of World Learning to the Peruvian Ministry of Education
· fulfil all of the responsibilities identified in the Scope of Work and guarantee the quality of services provided by World Learning
· Responsible for the creation and execution of the management plan for the project
· Responsible for the management of the budget for the project such that all of the necessary costs of the project are covered
· Responsible, along with the Managing Coordinator, for shaping a team of made up of appropriate staff
· Responsible for guaranteeing, along with Managing Coordinator, the quality of work performed by the managers
· Monitoring and supporting the team with all activities associated with the execution of the project
· Attending events and meetings called by the DIGC and be responsible for the attendance of the Managing Coordinator and other staff as well
· Liaise as needed with the DRE and relevant UGELs
· Ensure the timely issuing of accurate payments to all staff.
· Responsible for creating and delivering reports to the DIGC and Peruvian Ministry of Education as well as the funding entity (World Bank), according to the schedule.
· Responsible for reporting the results of the project in regular stakeholder meetings held in accordance with the schedule.
Requirements:
· Master’s degree in Education, Economics, Administration, Social Sciences or Engineering
· No less than 5 years of work experience in similar monitoring and evaluation for education or social projects with comparable levels of responsibility
· No less than 3 years of experience with monitoring and evaluation for training programs
· Fluency in both written and spoken English and Spanish
· No criminal history or background
· No current professional or personal ties with the Peruvian Ministry of Education nor with any current programs involved with the Peruvian Ministry of Education
