World Learning seeks a Training Specialist for an upcoming USAID-funded project. Duration: 3 years. Recruitment contingent upon successful award of the project. Background: World Learning is developing a 3-year project that will develop, coordinate, and manage cooperation and exchanges between the US government, potential Latin American donor countries in (Brazil, Chile, Columbia, and Peru), and recipient countries in Central America including El Salvador and possibly Honduras, Nicaragua, and Guatemala. The program will use a series of assessments to evaluate where there might be areas for collaboration between donor and receiving countries and then, using assessment results, implement a series of participant trainings. The overall goal of the program is to build trilateral cooperation between the United States, Central American countries, and selected donor countries.
Based in El Salvador, the Training Specialist’s responsibilities: S/he shall be responsible for providing analysis, advice, and/or implementation assistance on training strategies, delivery and facilitation of training, organizational training capacity, and management of training activities. S/he will also advice on evaluation of training.
· Conduct training needs assessments, plan and implement training programs and evaluate the results of training interventions, and manage participants’ data.
· Design and develop all materials and visual aids used in trainings.
· Advise other staff involved in the planning, scheduling, organizing, and implementation of training interventions, where needed.
· Coordinate with World Learning’s home office staff in identifying training providers, participant monitoring and tracking and data management.
Qualifications:
· At least 5 years of international experience in training or other programs involving significant multi-faceted and cross-cultural components.
· Degree in education/teaching, social sciences, or a related field (or career/experience equivalent).
· Strong writing and presentation skills required as well as excellent interpersonal skills.
· Demonstrated capacity to plan, schedule, and organize training programs involving many individuals and entities.
· Familiarity with USAID’s policies regarding participant training (in particular, ADS 253).
· Experience working on US government-funded training or exchange programs.
· Fluency in speaking and writing in English, with a high proficiency in Spanish allowing them to work seamlessly in predominately Spanish-speaking office.
· Demonstrated skills in designing, developing and implementing training programs and cross-cultural training materials, and in conducting interactive training sessions.
