World Learning, a global non-profit organization, is recruiting for a Job Readiness & Placement Advisor for a USAID-funded Assistance Agreement for activities related to youth workforce development in KP and FATA.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Job Readiness & Placement Advisor will be based in Islamabad with frequent travel to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP). He/she will be responsible for facilitating employment linkages between program target institutions and the private sector to arrange work readiness and placement opportunities for participating students. Essential duties and responsibilities include:

· Conduct labor market analysis to explore and identify, assess, and recommend potential employment opportunities for participating youth in the ICT sector

· Develop relationships with private sector firms working in ICT sector

· Advise training providers and education institutions to ensure ICT trainings and curricula are consistent with labor market demands

· Seek opportunities for strategic partnership and effective linkages with ICT industry, training and education institutions, business associations, and local government

· Design and implement job readiness activities including career fairs, ICT technical camps, internship and/or apprenticeship programs, and soft skills trainings to upgrade level of participating youth knowledge and skills

· Identify and secure job opportunities which match employer needs with the training and career goals of participating youth

· Ensure placed youth are able to maintain employment through ongoing job coaching as needed

· Strengthen participating training providers and education institutions ability to provide job placement and coaching services

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

· Bachelor’s degree in business, management, public policy, education or other relevant field

· Minimum 6 years of experience designing and implementing demand-driven workforce development and/or skills training initiatives for youth

· Minimum 4 years of experience working with the private sector, universities, and/or vocational centers to increase and match youth employment skills with industry demands

· Demonstrated knowledge of and experience with Pakistani post-secondary education systems and private sector

· Familiarity with Pakistani private sector firms, industry associations, post-secondary education institutions, and government counterparts

· Experience in leveraging ICT to improve access to training and education services

· Excellent verbal and written communication in English and Urdu

· Prior USAID project management and leadership experience in a higher education and/or workforce development project

PERFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

· Advanced degree in business, management, public policy, education or other relevant field

· Pashto language proficiency
