World Learning is a leading international non-profit organization advancing education, systems strengthening, and inclusive development through programming around the world. World Learning seeks applications for a Youth Employment Program Director, a 16-month consultancy position. The Program Director will coordinate the Morocco-based activities of an anticipated program promoting female youth employment. This role combines both program management and technical responsibilities.
Responsibilities
- Provide overall leadership, management, and strategic direction for the program, ensuring that the needs of female youth beneficiaries are well understood, and that training and employment targets are met;
- In conjunction with the donor, World Learning HQ, and World Learning’s Algiers office, determine monthly priorities, develop work plans, and ensure the program responds to changing conditions and operating environments;
- Manage and supervise the project’s long-term consultant team, and short-term consultants such as trainers;
- Coordinate with project partners, mentors, and all other key stakeholders;
- Contribute to screening of applicants, curriculum design, and other aspects of direct implementation;
- Oversee program administration, implementation, and fiscal management;
- Oversee and monitor quality of all program activities, and ensure reports, work plans, and other program deliverables are timely and of high quality;
- Other responsibilities as assigned.
Requirements
- M.A. degree in a relevant field and minimum 5 years of relevant experience, or B.A. and minimum 8 years of relevant experience;
- Demonstrated experience in managing youth employment or workforce development programs required. Experience with training or mentorship approaches preferred;
- Experience managing donor relationships and reporting requirements required. Experience with US government donors preferred;
- Excellent communication and diplomatic skills with track record of collaborative and responsive management;
- Strong leadership and personnel management skills;
- Commitment to inclusive programming that encourages full participation of individual regardless of gender, disability status, ethnicity, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity or other marginalized status;
- Have work authorization in Morocco and verbal and written fluency in French and Arabic required, English fluency preferred.
