We are seeking an experienced Outreach and Alumni Engagement Officer for the anticipated USAID-funded Leadership Activity in Burma. The project seeks to provide leadership training centered around scholarships in the U.S. to improve technical skills (including but not limited to economic affairs), promote tolerance of diversity, and advance Burma’s self-reliance.
The Outreach and Alumni Engagement Officer will design and implement an outreach and recruitment system that encourages diverse applicants to apply for scholarship opportunities through the Leadership Activity. S/he will also lead design and implementation of the project’s alumni engagement activities.

Responsibilities:
• Design and implement an inclusive outreach and recruitment plan for program participants;
• Provide technical leadership and oversee the design and implementation of creative and cost-effective alumni activities;
• Establish relationships with key stakeholders as part of the project outreach strategy and facilitate linkages with project alumni;
• Build linkages with existing alumni networks and coordinate programming;
• Lead monitoring and evaluation of alumni activities to ensure high-quality delivery; and
• Contribute to work planning and quarterly and annual progress reporting for outreach and alumni activities.
Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field required; Master’s degree preferred;
• A minimum of 5 years of professional experience successfully supporting alumni engagement activities and/or supporting outreach for scholarship, fellowship, or exchange programs higher education institutions or donor-funded development programs; preferably in Burma or the region;
• Demonstrated organizational skills, ability to prioritize workload and multi-task in a fast-paced environment and strong track record of meeting deliverables;
• Excellent communication and diplomatic skills, with a professional level of verbal and written fluency in English and Burmese; Burmese nationals preferred;
• Commitment to inclusive programming that encourages full participation of individuals regardless of gender, disability status, ethnicity, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity or other marginalized status.
